Distracted Eater

Let's get down to the nitty gritty, shall we?

This little one is quite the child to feed.

In fact, she will not eat unless there is some kind of distraction going on.

Observe. 1) The towel on the head game.

The current running ration is 3 bites of food per time the towel is placed on her head.

2) Peek-a-Boo is often a hit. Probably a bite per "boo."

3) And our balloon friend often saves the day. We can go through almost half a jar of food if she is in the right mood.

She may have gone over her limit in this one though.

4) Evenings is where the magic really happens! With the sun setting we get some pretty awesome shadows which can result in some pretty full tummies.

This one only works well if there are two feeders present since one has to be doing the shadows while the other is doing the shoveling. Do what you have to right?

  2. You have hit upon the greatest parenting secret of them all: distraction. You can't oppose something you're not thinking about, right? The only way we can get Becky to open her mouth for tooth brushing these days is to tell her to pretend to be a hippo and then to show us her hippopotamus teeth. Works like a charm... Love the shadow puppet show, love the towel on head, love that shot of her with her mouth full looking out from under the green bowl!
