No news yet...

I've been holding off on writing for the last little bit because, to be honest, there isn't a whole lot to update the world on. Monday, September 24th, was our due date and nothing too extraordinary ended up happening (unless you count eating some Ben & Jerry's Raspberry Fudge Chunk Greek FroYo. In that case, it was a very productive day and I enjoyed every bite of that pint!)

But really, the only changes in my life since last week is that I've progressed to a 3, I now get heartburn (even from eating something as tame as a bagel,) and am usually awake from 2:00-5:00 in the morning. I know, you are all jealous of my glamorous life. I haven't been letting any of that stop me from taking my daily 2 mile walk around our neighborhood though. Getting out of the house is by far the best distraction from the fact that I know of 6 people who have had babies in the last 10 days! Man oh man.

But, there is a bright spot! My mom is driving down tomorrow to hang out until my son (AH! I still can't believe I'm going to have a little man joining my life) makes his grand debut. I have a regular checkup with the doctor on Thursday which will likely lead to some various tests the following Monday when I'm 41 weeks (checking amniotic fluid, ultrasound, things of that sort.) I'm really hoping that I can avoid an induction, so feel free to send positive vibes this way.

Yes sirree, that is a 40 week and 1 day pregnant lady.

And still rockin that bump!

Another pregnancy post

Remember last time I posted about my pregnancy and said "I have never been this pregnant in my life?" Still is holding true my friends. Here I am, barefoot and pregnant at 39 weeks.

And I tell you what, my belly button is looking CrAzY nowadays. Who knew that I had a mole inside it? The things you learn when your stomach is stretched so tight that your stretch marks are getting their own stretch marks...

Avery caught sight of my belly button after my shower last week and started hooting and pointing at it. Since then her obsession has grown and she is constantly pulling on my shirt to peek at it (public places notwithstanding.)

But lets put belly buttons aside. I have a question for anyone and everyone. What tricks do you know for inducing labor?

I know, I know, my due date is a week away, but I'm getting pretty excited for this guy and his debut. Any surefire way to get this baby on the move? I'm all ears!!!

Latest on Avery

Still looks more like her dad than her mom (those Bradley genes are pretty darn dominant.)

Has awesome hair nowadays.

Can drink out of a Camerlback water bottle like it's nothing!

An official toddler and walks around with other kids.

Still a massive drooler (we are up to 10 teeth last we checked.)

An accomplished pointer.

(and apparently Kyle and I are as well!)

And at 15 months, she is weighing in at 19 1/2 pounds which puts her in the 25%! She has never been above the 10%, so that's big news in our household. She's 30 inches long (28%) and is as cute as cute can be.

And yes, these pictures were take at (surprise!) the zoo this past weekend. :) And we may have already visited again since then...

38 weeks

Well, it’s official. I have never been this pregnant in my life.

With my pregnancy with Avery, my water would have broken this morning and I would have been holding a brand new baby this afternoon.

Not that I’m surprised or disappointed. Sure there have been contractions and lots of pressure, and yes my Doctor says the head is as low as it can go, I’m at a 2, and 80% effaced, and of course I would love to meet this little guy, BUT at the end of the day the longer he’s in the stronger and healthier he’ll be.

Plus, today while I was at church someone told me that they loved my dress and that I looked wonderful. Now how often does a pregnant girl get complimented on her clothes and her looks? Let me tell you, not as often as her 38 week pregnant emotions need. Hence the photo shoot when we got home.

And just because I can, here is a picture of me the morning Avery was born,

and here I am with her little brother at the same point in the pregnancy.

And really, there's no way to have a photo shoot without this girl sneaking in.

Which leads to this,

and some of this,

a bit of this,

and lots of this.

Oh! And these pictures with my hair done, wearing a dress, and having lots of energy aren't how it is everyday. Here's a "real shot" Kyle got of Avery and me when I was sick and we were watching "Tangled."

Pregnancy...what a roller coaster!

Baby Shower

So, I'm not one for crafty/time intensive/tons of effort parties. Just not my forte. But I tell you what, I sure appreciate them!

This last weekend some friends threw me a baby shower and it was a Dr. Seuss theme!

I was over the moon for these decorations!

There were quotes all over the room from different Dr. Seuss books. I ended up recognizing the most quotes correctly and got a prize! :) Anyone ever heard of the book "Did I Ever Tell You How Lucky You Are?" There were some awesome quotes from it, and that book will make an appearance in our library one day.

Behold the diaper cake in all it's Seussical glory.

Turns out there were 85 diapers used in making this cake, and one of my friends guessed it right on the dot! She's actually due the day before me, so the pregnancy vibe must have helped her out.

And then there was the food...how I love food...and this food did not disappoint. Jane and Heather are the ones that put on the shower and did a masterful job with the themed food.

Heather actually made homemade red and blue bread for tuna fish sandwiches! I know, amazing! The goldfish were a nice touch too, along with the fish napkins.

And green deviled eggs with ham rolls for "Green Eggs and Ham."

I had never heard of this book, but the presentation was darling!

On the right you can see star shaped kiwis encircled by pineapple and oranges to represent "The Sneetches" (a personal favorite of mine.) And at the bottom of the picture you can see the strawberries/raspberry yogurt parfaits as a nod to "The Cat in the Hat."

Isn't this the cutest thing? I'm very impressed by creativity and this party was bursting out of its seams with it. Thank you so much!!!

Animal Noises

Avery has really taken off with her animal sounds and I've had several requests to show her in action.

Of course, a near 15 month old can't do all her animal noises in one video take (that'd be way too conveinent) but you got a good share of them. Her complete list is: Bear, bee, butterfly, bunny, cat, chicken, cow, dog, elephant, fish, horse, lion, monkey, snake, tiger, and turtle.

Some of those seem random? Such as the bee, butterfly, or fish? Well, when you have a picture of bees in your bedroom, butterflies on your high chair, and fish...fish...well...to be honest, I'm not sure how fish came about... but I guess it all just goes to show that my child is a genius. :)

And just because she's cute, here's Avery in her first rainfall.
