We headed to Colorado 2 days after we had our ultrasound, 1 day after running 12 miles (!!!) & Kyle taking his last final, and 0 days (meaning the day of) of Kyle doing a presentation and interviewing at an internship. Yeah. Absolute craziness.
Oh, and let me add that Avery spiked a temperature of 103.4 the night before we flew out. So change that absolute craziness to a "complete and utter chaos."
BUT, we landed in Colorado with our baby drugged up on Tylenol (which made for a Mar-ve-lous flight...too bad you can't ethically do that every time you fly with a child...) and let the festivities begin.
We did lots of relaxing.
Avery acquired a few new skills such as blowing on a recorder,
figuring out some new toys with Grandma and Grandpa,
(see that creeper in the background? That's me. Avery had some separation anxiety when we got there [turns out that high temperature was the beginnings of her roseola. Poor thing broke out into a rash once we got there, but all was resolved within a few days] so anytime someone wanted to hold her I hid behind a wall/couch/table/etc. It was surprisingly effective, although it does make for some stalkerish photographs.)
making music on the piano,
trying out bacon,
playing trains,
chasing after Rufus,
and putting blocks together when Great Grandpa wasn't busy tinkering with them.
We also went to an art show for Kyle's mom's art students.
And I believe this little lady won best of show for her age group.
But best of all was Avery getting some quality time with her Great Grandma,
Great Grandpa,
Grandma,
Grandpa,
Mom,
Dad,
Rachel,
and Austin.
And the results of this were a happy Avery,
and a happy Austin.
And with one thing or another, Avery stole my Mother's Day chocolate and we packed our bags and headed back to Indy.
I love the stalker-ish photo!
