Pre-Christmas in Indianapolis

This year we spent 2 1/2 weeks in Colorado for the holidays. Call me paranoid, but I didn't want to parade the fact that we weren't home on this blog. So I took a break.  

BUT my head is back in the game and I am ready to play catch up.

So, to kick off our holidays, Kyle and I spent a night baking Christmas goodies and then delivering them to our friends. It was a blast making Snowball-No-Bake-Cookies, Rudolph and Snowmen Cupcakes, Dark Chocolate Cranberry Pistachio Bark, and Snickerdoodles. Sure that night Avery may have missed her typical bedtime by 4 hours, and we may have listened to the same Christmas CD 3 times, and I may have nursed Sawyer in the car 2 times, but we were 1 happy family because of it.

And although we wouldn't be around Indianapolis to celebrate Christmas, we knew there was no way we could leave without visiting our wonderful zoo to see the Christmas lights.

Kyle and I have yet to have a Christmas tree for our last 3 Christmases, so we have to go somewhere to teach our children about the beauty of Christmas lights.

A perfect beginning to our holidays!

A Love Story

It's the typical love story. Boy meets girl. Boy and girl fall in love. Boy and girl get married.

Boy and girl bring extremely attractive children into the world.

Boy and girl make a happy family.

Which led to boy and girl's children to meet other boy and girls,

 

fall in love,

 

get married,

 

 and bring MORE attractive children into the world too.

Except for the ones that were still in high school, that is.:)

And that is how the Pennock family exploded into 20 people.

Hairstyles Part 2

One of the facts of life is that hair grows. One of the facts of AVERY'S life is that her hair grows REALLY slow. So, how does she handle this situation? She grows a mullet.

Business in the front.

Party in the back.

This is after 18 months of growth! I don't think her hair will be speeding up anytime soon.

And as you can tell, she's loving this look!

Hairstyles Part 1

One of the facts of life is that hair grows.

One of the facts of MY life is that my hair grows REALLY fast. Hair grows on me like E. coli. grows on room-temperature beef (kind of gross but incredibly accurate.)

So, how do I handle this situation? Locks of Love gets a donation from me every other year. Locks of Love is a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to children suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis.

This is my third time doing it and I don't think I (or my hair) will be slowing down anytime soon. Plus, it just feels good to donate this time of year.

I already am loving this new look!

Sawyer's Tricks

Sawyer maybe still pretty fresh to the world, but he already has several tricks up his sleeve.

1. He is an excellent bubble maker.

2. The face he makes when he recognizes you is just awesome.

3. And his smiles have melted many a heart already.

That's quite a bit for a 2 month old! Way to go dude!
