Ok, so with spring time comes nice weather and a chance to get outside and play! Unfortunately, this Spring has been rather cold here in Utah, which means I haven't gotten out to do too much. But things are starting to change and it looks like were in for some nice summer weather. One thing that I did get to do this spring was play on an ultimate frisbee team through BYU intramural sports. It was a blast, so I thought I would post some pictures!
So here we are, Brendan (my brother-in-law), Aaron (his brother), and me (the cute one), pumped and ready to go before our first game. Our team looked great. Just a bunch of married students out for a little exercise and friendly competition. No doubt we were going to win the game.
Everything started out great. I was feeling good, the day was nice, and I had my expert photographer (Lindsay) sitting on the sidelines to cheer me on (and take some awesome pictures).
I was getting my defense on and everything. So it was a little bit surprising when we stopped for halftime and the other team was up 6-1. It was then that I realized that as awesome as our team was looking before the game, we were missing one thing...strategy. They walked all over us and were calling out plays and everything! I love ultimate, but that team took it to a level that I had never played before. All I could do was sit and watch.
I was worn out. I think we lost that game 11-3, but I tried to forget the score so I'm not positive. After the game we all went around consoling each other with that cliche phrase "There's always next game." Well, the next game came and went, and the one after that, and the one after that. I think 3 points were the most we got in a single game the entire season. All in all it was a fun season! As long as I kept reminding myself that I was out there so that I could have fun and that winning isn't everything. Hopefully we'll be a little more victorious come summer season...
