The Pumpkin Patch

3 out of the 4 members of our family have never gone to a pumpkin patch before.

It seems understandable for Avery and Sawyer, but me? I have no excuse!

So last weekend we decided to fix that.

It started out calmly enough, Sawyer in one arm and Avery holding onto the other. It was sweet.

That, however, quickly turned into Avery exploring on her own.

It went something like this:

She would run her hands all over a pumpkin,

then race to a different one.

Poke her fingers at a new pumpkin,

then run to another.

Try to decide between this pumpkin or that pumpkin,

choose that pumpkin and try to pick it up,

determine it is too heavy,

and start the search all over again.

Oh! And there was an occasional mad dash towards the street in there too.

Busy, busy, busy. But cute.

Fortunately, Sawyer is still pretty chill.

Ahem, very chill.

Which has its perks, like sticking him wherever Avery is so we can get a sibling shot.

All in all, the pumpkin patch was a complete success.

Because we took something like this,

turned it into this,

and morphed it into this!

Happy Halloween from the Bradley Family!

Normal life

Now, don't let the above title fool you. I don't think our lives are "normal" but these are some photos from our day to day (thus normal for us) life looks like.

Avery has taken to putting on Kyle's jacket while he is off at school/work. It is very cute.

And reminds me of the Jawas from from Star Wars.

Sawyer is giving us daily smiles and coos (with an occasional laugh) He's pretty awesome!

Avery is very good at watching TV peacefully when I need a minute to take care of Sawyer or eat lunch .

Sawyer is getting so strong! He rocks the tummy time, can hold up his head well, and is a master at getting out of the swaddle.

Avery gives me her "squinty eye smile" often, especially when she is doing something she knows she shouldn't. It is shown here by her trying to "walk" down the stairs vs. "feet first." This girl is such a daredevil!

And Sawyer is tearing up the newborn charts! He went in for his one month checkup a week early and weighed a healthy 9 lbs 5 oz (45%) and is 22.5 inches long (95%.) I love this guy!

Pass the Baby

Sawyer has been able to meet lots of family since being born. And thanks to his sister, he gets passed from person to person quite frequently.

For example, here is Sawyer with his Aunt Kelsey. They met a few hours after Kelsey ran a cross country race 30 seconds faster than her PR (!!!). It was a good day for the two of them.

However, Avery saw Kelsey painting my toenails which resulted in me painting Avery's toenails (we only got 2 toes completed...I wish I could say toenails but toes are a more apt description.)

This resulted in Sawyer being passed to my Mom. I doubt there is anyone in this world that loves newborns the way my Mom does.

But my Mom was quickly whisked away by her best friend Avery who wanted to play on the iPhone together.

Which led to my Dad getting a chance to give some attention to his grandson.

This was short lived since a game of  "chase" had begun and Grandpa was nominated the chaser by Avery.

And she LOVED every second of this game!

So, in the end, Benjamin got some real quality time with Sawyer. I think the two of them go pretty well together.

And fortunately for all the people pictured above, more time together is coming in a week! YEA!!!

Sawyer's First Outing

Last week we went out into the world as a family of four for the first time.

And I'll give you one guess as to where we went.

Yup, Sawyer's first big adventure was to the zoo!

Sure, he didn't see much of it being in the Bjorn, but he can't see past 18 inches yet so I wasn't sweating it. And Avery really was happy to be back.

She was running this way...

And she was running that way...

There was just a whole lot of running.

Really, I don't know why we bother bringing a stroller. She rides in it to and from the car, but once we are actually in the zoo that girl is out of there.

But how else are you going to enjoy looking at sharks,

or cheetahs,

or penguins,

or seals? (I know you can't see them, but I just think this picture looks cool)

And every once in awhile Sawyer would flash us his baby blues.

Although more often than not he looked like this.

It was a beautiful fall day.

And we took full advantage of the Halloween decorations that were already set out.

This year Avery has perfected her jack-o-latern face,

I've nailed the "crazed mom with cranky kids" look,

Sawyer can do some pretty incredible tricks with his eyes,

and Kyle can now turn a nice shade of blue.

We are ready for Halloween!
